Florida now has measured more snow than at my house in Salt Lake City …
1.3 inches of snow reported in Marianna, Florida, this morning. Pensacola saw a dusting—only the 15th time they've seen accumulating snow there since records began in 1880.

Another crazy game. The list of games the bills lose are crazy rule benders … 🫠 one of these years it has to break the other way right? Right?

For the love of god, don't use AI... use Satellite Imagery!

Some wild stats happening with this pattern …
Salt Lake City summer minimum of 59F is so crazy that in over 140 years there have never been higher minimums than this IN NOVEMBER
(Nov high Min record 59F Nov 2nd,2005).

We are witnessing on of the top most extreme events in 140+ years of US climatic history.
Absolutely insane what s going on in USA:
Monthly records pulverized by hundreds in over a dozen States with unbelievable margins:
For example Salt Lake City UT Minimum of 59F is SEVEN degrees F higher than the previous monthly record.

Thousands of records coming next days...

“She’s a beaut, Clark!” Picked up an old satellite tv antenna to add to my at home radio/microwave tinkering. Hopefully will listen in to some direct broadcasts from low earth orbit

I know the turkey is the star today, but here in Salt Lake its also that time of year where other birds show up on the radar. Here is a fun gif from last night 👇 Just another thing you notice, by just watching the radar from time to time. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Here in SLC, we have been locked in a low stratus cloud (image 1) keeping things cool and damp. You can leave this gloomy day by a quick travel up one of the canyons (image 2). Local ceilometer shows the clouds in bright blue/purple/white (image 3). Sounding to round out the deep dive 😶‍🌫️

I’m glad turning it on and off fixes many problems because sys admin on orbit sounds like a wild job
It is not easy to build data centers here on Earth. There is not enough capacity on our energy grid to power everything. That may get worse as people demand more and more AI. So a couple companies, including Google, have now announced that they are exploring building data centers in space.

Ever wonder what the second-wettest 24 hours on record in Salt Lake City looks like? A strong shortwave passed through on Saturday, delivering a rare all-day rain and dropping 2.39 inches at the airport!
