Rewatching Veil MV upon waking and I hate to admit being wrong, but I'm coming around to the fact that everything I didn't like about how claustrophobic and plastic Veil's mix sounds might have been an intentional choice. At least it would be coherent artistically, if it is. You do you, Lee Taemin.

The stories never end, because if they do, only merciless death awaits her. By leaving things unresolved and deliberately keeping the ending open, she prolongs her allotted time and preserves her life. Sigh... This is an extreme example, but honestly, I think artists aren't much different. Taemin doesn't stop; he keeps showing the next concept, something new, a new appearance, a new performance, and with that conviction, he makes people admire and wait for him. In that sense, I can't see a single difference between him and Scheherazade. But is it all fabricated? No, it's not. It's his story. Showing a part of his own story as it is. All those devices, those narratives, are so inherently Taemin. That's why I couldn't help but be deeply moved by the Stay who first compared Taemin to Scheherazade. So much so that my ID is Scheherazade, lol. Anyway, the conclusion is... I think Taemin, like Scheherazade, survives and is loved as a storyteller and a narrative-weaver by sharing his stories. He proves his existence through the art and narratives he wants to express, surviving every day in the fierce K-pop market. That makes me so proud.
