Update: It has gotten much better, especially with Claude's models.
This Copilot hasn’t been very helpful so far. I asked it to fetch the value of an env variable and it fails to even do that. Meanwhile Copilot using Claude easily gets it and even mentions where the value is referenced from.
I recently got GitHub Copilot at work. Integrated it with GoLand. Today it tells me there is an update to Copilot so I install it, and now it’s telling me Copilot is not compatible with this version of GoLand. 😑

“Most of us live in cities, where the night sky is obscured by a parmesan-shaded haze from buildings and street lights. We've built our cities skyward, but walled ourselves off from the cosmos. Ancient civilisations had monuments to commune with the stars; we have skyscrapers that obscure them.”

The irony that 'Open'AI is so closed that a Chinese open model can come in and deflate the OpenAI bubble in less than a week...

Remember when an incumbent tech company that had all the resources, and every advantage stacked against them… got blindsided by this tiny team that beat them at their own game?

Many examples, eg:

Yahoo -> Google; MySpace -> Facebook; Google -> OpenAI

Now: OpenAI -> DeepSeek

Desis randomly celebrating deportations is quite literally a case of begaani shaadi mein.

You worry about your AQI. Why are you giving enthusiastic legal justifications for Doland?

Even a lot of otherwise Trump hater Desi uncle aunties are doing this.

STOP!

There it is... "We don't want to pay for creativity"
Fuck you, Capcom...
Capcom (Maximo: Ghosts to Glory)is experimenting with new technology, including generative AI, to fight against raising development costs.

It's more a coming up with the “hundreds of thousands of unique ideas” situation and not "creating" stories or gameplay.

I like BlueSky's approach of user "verification". People having their own domain can make it their handle which solves the problem of authenticity. It's almost the inverse of how I used to look for celeb/org accounts back in the day -- by visiting their website and looking for their SM links.

Modern day shopping experience is paying the bill & getting bombarded by texts:
- from the vendor containing the e-invoice (same received on WhatsApp)
- from the vendor containing loyalty points (same received on WhatsApp)
- from the bank with your balance (doesn’t apply if paid with cash)

The "slow breathing to convince your body that you are not actually in physical danger" thing actually kinda works, y'all.

Record revenue (on track for $156B), record profits (on track for $55B), fresh enough memories from firing 25% of staff... and Meta is at it, again.

Ruthless business rationale, as the goal is not cost savings, but firing the old, hiring the new.

Good luck to everyone at Meta.

- Put W11 upgrade behind minimum hardware requirements.
- Plan obsolescence of W10, leaving a good chunk of users with a vulnerable OS and no possibility of upgrading.
- Plan obsolescence of O365/M365 suite support for W10 leaving users feeling cheated as they have old hardware with no support.

I don’t understand the thought process behind signing up for RedNote. Why would you willingly give up your data to China? Didn’t the US ban Huawei products because of spying and data privacy concerns?
