Onto my 3rd Raspberry Pi project, a RetroPie handheld gaming machine. I built this but wasn’t happy with the emulation. Now I am going to focus on Gameboy games as I feel these will be best suited to this device.

2 discs into the 2nd series of Blake's 7, and it occurs to me that if a show like Star Trek is 'Space Friends', then Blake's 7 is more of a 'Space Seinfeld'.

Deeply flawed characters living and working together make, for myself at least, a much more interesting show.

Blake's 7 (series)
The Blake's 7 series of television and audio stories has several connections to the Doctor Who universe, and the two also share some behind-the-scenes commonalities. Blake's 7 was a dystopian science ...

qBittorrent is by far and away the best torrent client that I have tried. Superfast with a very slick GUI. Make sure that you have some malware protection. I use Malwarebytes. Go private and use a decent VPN, I use Surfshark.

The first page of meanings from the book The Meaning of Liff.

I love Douglas Adams’ work, his collabs and the fact that he was script editor on Doctor Who.

A very kind customer, who I chat with regularly about Sci-Fi, dropped this off for me. It’s the one book I didn’t have in my Douglas Adams collection. What a lovely bloke.

Two of these are arriving tomorrow for my media centre set up. These complete the build of project 2, and then comes the fun part, actually putting it to good use.

Unbound is a validating, recursive, caching DNS resolver. It is designed to be fast and lean and incorporates modern features based on open standards.

I have added this to my Pi Hole project.

Have just finished watching eps5 & eps6 of Season 13's The Seeds Of Doom. What a fantastic story. The Krynoid's weird clicky noises are genuinely very disturbing, and it's amazing what the special effects team achieved on a shoestring budget.

Gone as far as I can with this software-defined radio build, as I need a PSU cable splitter to power both the Raspberry Pi, attached to the back of the display, and the display itself.

John Challis plays a fantastic henchman, Scorby, in The Seeds Of Doom. But, he's probably better known as Boycie from Only Fools And Horses.

I'm two episodes in, and this season just demonstrates over and over again that the most important ingredient in good Who is the story.

"And remember, no touch pod, it could be dangerous". A great line delivered by the 4th Doctor. I am now watching the final story of Season 13, The Seeds Of Doom. A six-parter with another fantastic enemy, no, not the alien plants, but Harrison Chase, played by Tony Beckley.

I like a good tinker, so having got OSMC up and running I revisited Pi Hole and added in Unbound, a recursive DNS add-on. Who doesn't like a bit of recursion? Only took a few minutes and it's working perfectly.

It adds another layer of security and privacy to my DNS server.

This is an old project of mine. A handheld gaming powerhouse built using the Raspberry Pi Zero. I think it's time to revisit this and see if the software has improved and to focus more on Nintendo Gameboy games, as these are the most suitable for this kind of device.

A while ago, I got inspired by a Prime Video show to build a software-defined radio (SDR). Now I want to revisit that project and use a Pi-compatible touchscreen to create a really easy-to-use SDR.

OSMC has a lovely, simple, but slick interface. No lag through the TV remote. Now to check out customisation options, format the SSD storage and set up sharing files between my MacBook and OSMC.
