For really no reason, just putting this out there. The absolute best cheap option for gaming these days is a RetroPie setup and a torrent client.
For a little less than $100 you can buy everything you need to emulate and download anything PS1 and earlier, plus most Arcade games.

gotta do some tinkering on your own with a display, 3d printer, buttons and a raspberry extension but yeah you can play wherever with a raspberry pi, in yeggi there's tons of casings pre-made gameboy color style if you wanna check it out!

This wasn't at all how I planned to use my PVM.
But retro gaming is what a lot of people have specifically bought their PVMs for.
So, mine can now also do that, due to it and my GPi Case 2 dock ending up in close proximity, by pure chance.

Like 80's and 90's anime trailers and Twin Peaks montages. I know I can install the Kodi port with RetroPie, but where would I get the videos? Does anyone on YouTube do ambient visuals?

When I first got my Raspberry Pi 4 Retropie didn't work on it, I need to go ahead and swap it over now.

I have the Atari 2600 I had as a kid. It works, and has a composite video mode. THAT only works when run through a VCR. I wish I were making that up. The carts also take up a ton of space. So…picked up a Pi and RetroPie and the setup worked really well!

I did this a while ago and got RetroPie running. It was a lot of fun loading on old games and customizing the design.

i think it would be really funny if more software had frontends like this, the closest i know of are a few retropie/emulation station themes but i need to see that one mario ds render on a virtual boy emulator
