Is there a joke about the five lobes and 2 fissures of the lungs? Re: "Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks..."

I remember a friend shaking his head when someone told them they had triple pneumonia - He thought "you have only two lungs..."

UnitedHealth, employer of slain exec Brian Thompson, found to have overcharged cancer patients for drugs by over 1,000%
The report is the latest indictment of America’s broken healthcare system.

Brain surgery may be safer than not for some folks - people who can't sleep otherwise. If DBS helps you sleep.

@BillMaher is a sheep, or maybe a bad shepherd
No one should have to "prove" that they need to be protected from infectious diseases. No one should have to "prove" why they need reproductive healthcare, or have their gender assessed before using a restroom. Lots of policing of bodies going on.
Soon after we heard of a woman in NC with stage four cancer who was harassed in a store because she wouldn’t remove her mask.

Another patron yelled at her that she was a “sheep” and demanded she take it off. When she explained she had cancer - he coughed on her.

This is where mask bans lead /9

People have a clock when it comes to being around the chronically. They’re supportive at first - but if you don’t get better quickly - they grow resentful & abandon you.

They never consider that it might be hard for US that we will never get better. They never consider our feelings at all.

It's Time to Throw Away the 'Coulda, Woulda, Shouldas' and Practice Radical Rest
When you're chronically ill you can't push your body the way non disabled people do. You have to learn to rest. There's few words more damaging to us than the 'coulda, woulda, shouldas'

If you’re newly disabled - you may find one of the toughest battles you’ll have is with yourself.

Unlearning internalized ableism, convincing yourself it’s “ok” to rest, ask for help & rely on others… these are not easy things to do.

But they are critically important for survival.

Exercise for Parkinson's can be bad at times. A joint that needs repair first. I just want to note, exercise isn't always good for PWP. Sends me into awful dystonic 3 hour "tempests." PT has been no help in this, and the siren call of PTs & MDs to exercise has more than once caused a lot of pain.

Why is patient involvement important when improving healthcare? I recently read a scientific article that made me see it in a new light

This is why patient involvement is important for improving healthcare or “It seems inconvenient, but if you really want to, you can try”
(This blog post is also available in Swedish =>> here) Most people living with Parkinson’s disease take a lot of pills, multiple times a day. After having Parkinson’s for a while,…
