One of the most enjoyable Manchester City blogs I’ve ever written, based on a truly memorable night in Istanbul where history was made and City haters were slayed. ‘Turkish Delight’ was an all too obvious, but equally sweet and irresistible, headline 🩵🏆🩵🏆🩵🏆🇹🇷

Such sad news today that England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Rugby World Cup winner Lewis Moody has revealed he’s been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Such a battler on the field, this is the ultimate fight he’ll ever face, tragically one that he can’t win. Our hearts go out to him and his family

A one minute silence at Old Trafford - impeccably observed - for the victims of the heinous attack at the Manchester synagogue.

Well done to one and all.

City have had a fruitful 3 weeks in between international breaks, beating Utd, Napoli, Burnley & Huddersfield and drawing at Arsenal & Monaco. A win at Brentford could see Pep’s men in the Premier League’s top 4, but is it too early to say City are back?

Is it naïve to think City are on the way back?
As Manchester City slowly begin to turnaround their worst start to a season under Pep Guardiola, there’s a whiff of optimism in the air, albeit tempered by a sense of déjà vu. Crushing the not-so nois...

Whenever life looks like turning to shit, whenever perspective is required in adversity, I look at this beautiful little dog and reflect on how lucky I am to have her unconditional love. She’s such a gentle soul and I’d be lost without her 🩵🐾🐾🩵😍🥰😘

City have made their worst ever start to a season under Pep Guardiola and face a tough week with United tomorrow, Napoli on Thursday night and Arsenal on Sunday.

Pep likes to work with a small squad, but already the injuries are beginning to bite…

Pep believes ‘less is more’ – but is it?
Before the season kicked off Pep Guardiola – tongue in cheek – said he’d resign if City didn’t trim down the size of his squad. On the eve of a potentially embarrassing Manchester derby he’s seen his ...

Will City be active in the last 7 days of the transfer window? A failure to act could cost them dear as the same old defensive frailties were exposed once again in the defeat against Spurs. Does Pep need new personnel as well as new ideas this season?
www.readbutneverred.com/post/pep-s-l...
Pep’s legacy will live forever
Call it pragmatism or even pessimism, but Manchester City will be hard pressed to be genuine title contenders this season. The lack of a ‘hard press’ was a fundamental factor in their gutless showing ...

Injuries permitting my City XI at Wolves:

Trafford
Khusanov
Ait-Nouri
Stones
Dias
Reijnders
Bernardo
Cherki
Marmoush
Haaland
Foden

It won’t be - that’s why Pep is the manager and not me.

For those questioning the wisdom of City replacing Ederson with Donnarumma, maybe Pep is adapting his possession style of play to incorporate a more direct approach. Now we have Pep Lijnders on the coaching staff it might be a mix of the best bits of vintage Klopp and Guardiola?

Take a quick squint at these two extracts from a superb book by a guy called Bill Browder - a man who Vladimir Putin would have assassinated in a heartbeat. Putin has Trump in his pocket - he has dirt on the narcissistic chump in the White House - so Donald dances to his tune. POTUS is a disgrace.

Quelle Surprise, a new season is upon us, so how better to start than resurrecting City’s alleged breaches of the Premier League’s FFP rules? Ziegler has been relentless in his insidious drip feed of ‘stories’ implying City’s guilt but he - like so many - will be devastated when City are exonerated.
August 16, 2025 at 7:48 AM
I feel sorry for the guy - he’s been under a cloud for the past two years - TWO FRICKIN YEARS - while the clowns who purport to be in charge of football investigated the claims. Two years ago City were on the cusp of buying him for £85m. He’d have been a Premier League champion!

The Premier League panicked in 2023 and rushed out 115 charges against Manchester City in a bid to show it was capable of policing English football. It didn’t work and now City are set to reap rich rewards.
