One of the things I worry about with social media brain rot is that people who slip through the cracks, who aren't doing well, will just sort of recede from people's consciousness. There are a bunch of trans women during the pandemic that have more or less disappeared as far as I can tell.

There's a lot that's interesting here, but I think the US/the West can have plenty of boogeymen that they define themselves in opposition to aside from just Russia (China for instance). Also curious about whether countries like Japan and S Korea are now in the "West"

I’m realizing I have a lot of work to do on myself from things that got out of hand during the pandemic, and it’s scary and sucks. I do wonder if this is true for others, and maybe we just don’t see a lot about those stories. Either way wish me luck 🙌💕

I know she's right, & still there are all these little moments I go over in that frame where I wonder "...what if we?" or "...what if instead?". I know this is self-punishing and unfair, but it feels like so many of these huge moments were so close to being something different, even if I know better
There’s a vibe rn where many of us in the UK are stopping to take stock of what went wrong over the past 8 years with trans ppl, and I do think it’s important to reconsider tactics, but at the end of the day there was only one decisive factor in all of this: money.

Are Americans aware that down here in Mexico we’ve been getting bombarded for months with ads of Kristi Noem telling us to our face that we’re out welcome in the US, and that these ads even found their way into our national TV broadcasts

The viciousness I’ve experienced from other queers who are self styled “elders” or “community leaders” for trying to talk to them about being more considerate towards the struggles of trans women is like nothing I’ve ever seen
Is it shocking that trans woman of color (even a famous one) would date a white MAGA cop? I mean, maybe if you have no idea how most straight trans women's lives work. It honestly goes to show how many "social justice" queers have no idea what many trans fems' material circumstances are like 2/5

I will never get over how wild it is that we really had a toy called "Tickle-Me-Elmo" and that this was just a commonly spoken phrase for a while in American life

I'm ngl, the pandemic and what came after it was such a destructive force in my life, and all the systems of support I had built after years of struggling were just totally destroyed by the whirlwind of it, and even after years of trying to build some momentum nothing has really gone anywhere

Perhaps I’m being a curmudgeon, but going through Zohran’s on materials about his policy platform and his statements on them I feel like he is not a serious person seriously addressing how he will try to operate the apparatus of power to bring about his goals and an equitable city
