This is so hard to learn as a helper. Even just sharing personal experiences can perceived as advice given. It’s often better to let people stumble a few times before sharing any sort of input.
I learned very early. Never give advice. Even when asked for it. First, when I give advice and it goes wrong, then it’s my fault. Second, even if I give advice people don’t do what I suggest, or do it differently. For the latter they fail, for the former it was a waste of my breath.

I KNOW I’m not the only stressed out about what is happening to our country, and people mostly choose to not engage it to cope. However, it would be nice if more people dropped how concerned they are in everyday conversation because honestly, if you are not, you are normalizing.
