Anyone who thinks that Trump's tariffs are going to make any significant difference in restoring manufacturing are fooling themselves. Trump's tariffs are about transferring more of the tax burden onto the lower classes, while he exempts big businesses that pay him off.

To me, the Democratic party as an institution projects weakness. The vast majority of Americans have had enough of Trump, but they expect a clear vision of what the alternative will look like. They also expect moral clarity and a readiness to fight for our democracy. They're not getting that.
