Just here to follow & read what others are saying. From New West, BC. I love cats, Christmas, The Sims 4, and - oddly considering I'm mostly homebound - public transit. Social anxiety sometimes mutes me, but I'm still here trying to be part of the fun.
Putting away decor I found tissue paper in a storage box so Poppy got herself a second Christmas

When I'm anxious I forget that I have something multiple times and insist it is THE thing I need most. In 2020 I bought my mum panic tortillas for weeks. Now I have apparently forgotten that I have tampons enough times that if a war does break out I'll be THE first aid checkpoint for women. 🤦‍♀️

Some Grok users, mostly men, began to demand to see bruising on the bodies of the women, and for blood to be added to the images. Requests to show women tied up and gagged were instantly granted.

The ‘put her in a bikini’ trend rapidly evolved into hundreds of thousands of requests to strip clothes from photos of women, horrifying those targeted

If a new app was produced which had, as its core features, the generation of sexual deep fake images of children and calls for a violent global far-right revolution, then not only would it be swiftly banned, but you wouldn't have a single mainstream politician willing to associate themselves with it

As a Canadian woman I just want to say it's beyond disturbing to watch our own politicians and media justify remaining on a platform that is supporting the sexual assault of women and children - that IS what this is, it's sexual assault. And remaining on X/Twitter speaks volumes.

Tonight is the last night that my Christmas stuff is visible to the outside world. Tomorrow morning I take down the wreaths, turn off the outside lights, close the curtains and continue to experience Christmas joy where the neighbours can't judge me for it 🤪

Read this thread. I don't know what to say, other than we can't live like this anymore.
I‘m discontinuing my social media use for the foreseeable future and I want to explain why.

I woke up in the new year to discover that some guy on here had saved photos I took on New Year’s Eve and used Grok to remove my clothes. I know this because he showed me.

We've been taking them very seriously since the start, despite Americans' widespread dismissal. Why do you think we stopped coming to your country and started boycotting your products? It was literally the only issue in our last election.
If I'm Canada I'm taking Trump’s "jokes" about becoming the 51st state very seriously right now.

Christmas Eve involves @kahluanut.bsky.social and I prepping the gifts for Poppy, and this one was a real challenge to put together and wrap. There’s a little grabby hole slash catnip-sniffy-slot because Poppy is a delicate gift opener 😽

With only 102 days to Easter, stores including B&M and Poundland have started selling chocolate eggs.

Thus we're in the Venn diagram overlap of two commercial festive seasons, where you can simultaneously food-celebrate the birth and death of Jesus.

OK, I gotta say the Wall Street Journalist who convinced the AI Chatbot controlled vending machine to adopt a Soviet communist persona, in order to get it to give away free products to fellow travellers, is a pretty funny attack vector. www.wsj.com/tech/ai/anth...
