Tonight we are listening to Edward Shearmur's wonderful soundtrack for The Count of Monte Cristo. Highlights include the achingly delicate theme for Edmond and Mercedes, the liberating joy of the main theme played after escaping prison, and the absolutely perfect party invitation montage music.

It's possible I would like the Fallout show more if I had played the games, but it also appears that a lot of people dislike it for just that reason. For the record, I really, really like it. Going into something without being aware of every little reference is very unburdening.

There's been a lot of great new theme songs from anime in the last little while but "Sea of Miracles" is just the untouchable standard.

The weekdays line up perfectly in the calendar grid and the full moon was on the 1st. Maybe this is the factory default month that returns the universe's settings to origin.

I remember back in my teens, part of our scouting year was a trip to Moosehorn in Maine in the fall. Remembered how much it looked just like NB down there, but with different flags. How all the other kids from the US troops were basically the same as us. Will that sort of experience ever return?
