Mpls Park and Rec Board renames Marcy Park to Dinky Park

Dinky Park is located at 711 11th Ave SE, near the U of M campus and Dinkytown area.

The East Bank Neighborhoods Partnership officially submitted a request to rename the park to the MPRB in 2024.

"Route 6 service to southeast Minneapolis, Dinkytown and the University of Minnesota will double. Throughout the bus era, half the Route 6 trips have terminated in downtown, with half continuing to southeast. This will increase the frequency from 30 to 15 minutes."

The Marshall student apartment building in Dinkytown stands on the site of Marshall High School (later Marshall-University High School) which closed in 1982. It became a small business incubator bldg (you could share a fax!) before being razed for housing (can't find a pic w/the big MARSHALL sign)

METRO E Line construction is starting soon.  Metro Transit is currently in the process of awarding a construction contract. Once a contractor is selected the E Line team will finalize the construction schedule.  Activities may begin as early as the last week in April.
