A couple weeks ago I transferred all my playlists from Spotify to Qobuz (liking it so far) so naturally I’ve been listening through some old ones. I think I’m gonna start burning mix CDs again.

I truly feel geriatric at shows nowadays. We just got home from seeing Grandaddy (A++ excellent, by the way) and I can’t feel my feet, my back is throbbing, and I need about 5 gallons of water. At least I know most of the people there are probably feeling the same right about now, too!

I think I need a little breaky break from all the Taylor content. As much as I enjoy it, it’s A LOT and my brain can’t handle it this week. Friday will be 14 years since my mom died. Some years I barely even acknowledge it, but this year I’m feeling grumpy and sad. That’s all. 🤷🏻♀️

this made me realize just how SUBVERSIVE it is for Taylor to release a showgirl themed album during the height of her WAG era. showgirls have their own income. they are sexual, glamorous, and in the spotlight. these things are generally despised in conservative patriarchal circles.

TLOAS is Taylor Swift's dryest, most deadpan album yet. Dry / deadpan humor are strongly associated with British humor, so perhaps this is why CANCELLED! uses the British spelling

Weezer’s second album, the “lost album” that was never made, was intended to be a sci-fi rock opera. Instead, Pinkerton was born, an album that was initially poorly received and full of controversial lyrics. Deep dive into the Madame Butterfly of it all. It reminds me of what’s going on with TLOAS.
