I just read Peter Galison’s “Planetary Vision”—very good paper—and experienced the most exciting interactive information visualization (?) I’ve seen on the web in a long time. You find it here:

El fueguino sube al Caribe
por tus punas espejadas;
a criaturas de salares
y de pinar lleva a las palmas.
Nos devuelves al Quetzalcóatl
acarreándonos al maya,
y en las mesetas cansa-cielos
donde es la luz transfigurada,
braceadora, ata tus pueblos
como juncales de sabana.

And since I still don’t have something coherent to say about it, here the one thing made me feel good today

Last night, we saw “Androgynous. Portrait of a Naked Dancer” at the Gorki Theater in Berlin. Written and directed by Lola Arias, it’s a wonderful story about the impossibility of gender, the repetition of history, pain, and joy – I guess

When I was a child, I wanted to become an astronomer. Even now, whenever I look up at the night sky, it brings back memories of those days.

This is a photo of Jupiter taken with DSLR-A700 + Kenko 500mm mirror lens. Maybe you can see Jupiter's bands. Well... this blur is pretty much like my life :)

The other day I paid a visit to the “Robotron – Code und Utopie” exhibition at the GfZK in Leipzig. It’s really a great show about technology, industry, politics, socialism, capitalism, and art. If you can, check it out (until February)
