I recommend watching Thiel speak on Seasteading in 2009. Before installing a tech coup in the United States, he wanted to build sovereign countries in the ocean. It was a flop. There are many jaw dropping moments in this video, but skip to 9:50 “they won’t try to stop us till it’s too late”

Hard to reconcile the president promoting crypto currency, beloved by criminals because it cannot be monitored by governments, and monitoring immigrants sending remittances back to family members

That last paragraph hits like a ton of bricks. I'm sure a good chunk of the officers know how happy the administration would be if one of their peers dies. The killing of Good was a pretext for this escalation. It has to be obvious, even to them, how eager they are for further escalation.
