I just want to use your SQL Server tonight.
Good morning, hive mind. I need your help finding a suitable meme.

For a presentation, I want to illustrate how a hugely complex and expensive undertaking can generate unexpected tangible results. Kind of like the space program gave us nonstick pans and memory foam.

All ideas appreciated.

The Dell U4025QW ultrawide monitor is an amazing piece of tech, but don't ever try to update the firmware from a Mac.

After a dozen-or-so attempts with my Windows machine, factory resets of my monitor, unplugging and replugging a hundred cables, and some magical thinking, it finally worked.

I wonder how the customer's cost savings on this overprovisioned Azure Virtual Desktop compare to the cost of my hourly rate while I wait for it to complete my login and a virus scan so I can start working.

When it's -10°C, dark and windy outside, there's something fundamentally satisfying and hopeful in booking a June week in Croatia.

I don't mean to be rude to you, my dear winter, but you're about to outstay your welcome again.

I have absolutely zero interest in winter sports, but I would totally tune in to see the booing of the clowns.

Lol, chess.com. I’m flattered, but my game might (generously) be 500 Elo. At 2150, I’d be going around winning local chess tournaments. :)

I can't think of a single nice person who has reason to "fear cancellation" on social media.
Post without fear of cancellation.
Not from your audience, that's fair. From platforms deciding your content shouldn't be seen. Algorithms suppressing reach. Shadowbans.
That's control.

If you're an ISV, here's a fun pattern if you want to mess with BI consultants:

Use one datetime column for the date part and another for the time part.

The "date" of the time column is usually 2000-01-01, but just for yucks, you can put the actual date in there (or even the day before).
