The latest chapter of my historical novel, Maynard's War, is now available to read.

In one of my favourite episodes, Bertrand Russell decides to introduce his old friend John Maynard Keynes to his new friend D.H.Lawrence.

And it doesn’t go well.

D.H. Lawrence is a man of endless energy, and so being bed-ridden and reliant on others impacts his mood. Take a digital pilgrimage back to April 1925 via The D.H.Lawrence Memory Theatre.

📚 Banned Book of the Day
It’s been a minute—but let’s bring this back with a favorite from my younger years:
How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell.

Yes, it’s been banned. Why? Because kids dare each other to eat worms. I loved this book. Still do.

Next time you chop logs: "Doesn't he live with a vast silence you shall never, never penetrate, though you chop him into landlines shred from shred. He is alive with life such as you have not got and will never have. And in so far as he is a vast, powerful, silent life, you should worship him."

My great grandfather did final draft edits to Lady Chatterley's Lover while hanging out with DH Lawrence in Mallorca. I have an (unsigned) first edition that Lawrence sent him as a thank-you. It is in less than pristine condition, but still super cool.
