Watched the women’s 10k Skiathlon today for the 1st time since I became an almost-intermediate skier.

My Mom died last week.
Today a retail clerk asked me if I had any fun plans for the weekend.
I froze, couldn’t think of a lie, burst into tears & said “My Mom just died.”
She came around the counter with tears in her eyes & hugged me so hard.
