This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.
Building staff couldnβt figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

They took my 4wd vehicle in September because "it doesn't snow in this part of the state, they need to move all 4wd vehicles to Northern Virginia".

It's been 10+ days of suffering in my house. Some sort of virus. Son has literally gone delirious/landed in er. Daughter, bronchitis. And I've coughed myself into what feels like a hernia.
Exhausting.

The (exploitative) property management company who owns the place had me towed (cost $195) the day before Thanksgiving after my son accidentally parked in one of their spots.
As annoying as the beeping sound is, I've got no interest in giving them anything for free, including a simple battery. π

There have been a half dozen contractors in and out of the empty house next door over the past 5 days.
None have changed the batteries in the smoke detector that consistently beeps. It begs for someone to do something.
Nobody does.

I am struggling to get my life back to a peaceful place again. The past 2 months have been so incredibly exhausting & stressful.
But I'm a homeowner now. And still sober. So that's good.

Moved into the new place last weekend. Broke things off w/2 guys I was seeing on Monday. Worked all week.
Today I've had a plumber out, made a trip to Target & 3 different trips to Lowe's. I've rearranged the living room twice. It's 2 pm.
My life is utter chaos right now.
I hate it.

Today was an emotional rollercoaster. I cried a lot. My dad & I always talked about buying a house together. Now I'm doing it alone.
He has been gone 14 months. I have been sober for 13 months.
At least he gave me that gift.

I got here at noon when registration started.
They haven't even started distribution yet and have told me they're running out of food.
