Seeing someone talking about trans folk driving their self worth out of being perceived as hot or desirable (can't reply so subskeet) and... I kinda get it? But also it's something I feel alienated in the community by since I'm a sex repulsed asexual.

I really like this analogy- AI as currently implemented *has good uses* but as pushed outside of those useful purposes it's full of horrendous dangers.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Each time I point out that the Republican platform is simple (they want to sexually abuse children, and they want you to pay for it), a few people think I'm exaggerating, and usually some small number of people think I'm being sardonic or something. I mean it quite literally.

Lots of food people simply *do good things* because that is what they do.
It's nothing particularly special to them- everyday and usual. And they don't remember because it wasn't a big deal.
