People who rely on public transit live in both urban and rural areas, and transit can be found in both too. Michigan is a state with many rural communities, and it’s crucial transit is provided to everyone in rural Michigan. 🧵

Heads up! SMART service changes go into effect Monday. They include increased frequency on the FAST Woodward, FAST Gratiot, and 9 Mile routes, as well as the elimination of the 562 (FAST Gratiot service to Midtown).

We're excited for these big wins for DDOT! Can't wait for these buses to enter service to help #DoubleDDOT, and for mechanics to ratify their new contracts with wage increases!
Big wins for Detroit transit!
A new $50M federal grant brings 53 more buses to DDOT. Combined with earlier awards, Detroit is now purchasing 129 new buses, replacing 44% of the entire fleet from 2025-2027.
