Dear Rugby fraternity.

Has the obstruction law been changed?

I've seen in the Bok vs. Italy and Wales vs. Japan clear obstruction calls not given.

New Zealand’s attack is so pedestrian for about 90% of the time until Beauden et al combine to do something magical. Not sure how much of that is good or bad coaching.

This bit feels apt.

For me for all their achievements I've never quite seen this South African side as matching the NZ 2010s team that won back to back World Cups for sheer dominance. But for all that they don't necessarily look unbeatable the way that NZ team did, they're starting to inspire a similar level of dread

Very happy for Johan Grobbelaar. Finally had a performance worthy of the Springbok jersey (some lineouts did go wonky though). Might be enough to fight off Marnus vd Merwe, Mbonambi and Dweba as one of the permanent Bok hookers.

110 minutes of South Africa playing with 14 men:

Total score: 51-17 to the Springboks.

Only one try conceded.

They have somehow also scored 7 tries with a one man disadvantage.

V Italy today they only missed 8 tackles.

An absolutely generational side, it’s a privilege to watch them.

Scotland v Argentina is also an escalator match - who’s going to claim top of the 2nd tier table between those two? Who’s waiting for one of the top table teams (Ireland 👀) to drop down?
This is an escalator match for both sides - the winner could claim to be the heir to the Bok throne. The loser is fighting Ireland for that last spot in the top 5
Working on an All Blacks thing and I am very convinced England will beat them

Both times the pass was supposed to go to Tomos Williams

Someone just made the point to me

The Arg interception try that was a carbon copy of the one from RWC 23

Almost none of the players from that QF were on the pitch on Sunday and all of the coaches have changed

So… basically… wtf

If a certain Misters Squidge were to make a France v SA video using footage, I might have a Dropbox ready to accept it.

I’d pay, of course.

Well they’re not playing Costes at all because partly of Gourges.

They still have Barassi, Chocobares and probably Menoncello coming in. Ridiculous depth.
November 7, 2025 at 6:05 PM
@thalamsutu.bsky.social just seen a rumor that Costes is leaving Toulouse for Clermont.

If the rumor is true, then Toulouse's center options next season are limited. Until, a wunderkind is on the way or a certain UBB is on the way.

France were top of the Six Nations for scrum completion and fewest scrums lost - showing the prioritised ball retention

But does their new selection at prop suggest they are now changing tactics and aiming to win penalties? 🤔

Both if these men should also add to France’s maul

Thinking about the Ireland vs. All Blacks game yesterday.

The new residency rules law change kept popping into my head.

If Alex Nankivell were eligible for Ireland, the Irish backline would look completely different.

@huwgriffinrugby.bsky.social, you have messed with my SFM enjoyment.

Andrew Goodman also spoke about this in the Aotearoa Rugby Pod. Ireland only scored one try in the Six Nations from broken play apparently. Ireland have gone from tiki taka Barca rugby to “hit them on the break” Chelsea

@huwgriffinrugby.bsky.social is the Scarlets vs. Sharks a good game? Or an average game with good tries? Or bad?
