One of the most shameful incidents of WW2 was when the government and press scapegoated refugees, then decided to pack them off an a cramped ship, The HMT DUNERA and ship them to Australia.
As they boarded the boat they were stripped of the valuables and robbed by the guards.

"Nostalgic UK residents feel that environment was cleaner, streets safer and people happier in 1975" by my recollection, viewed from London, dramatically wrong on all 3 counts. Would have to be residents who weren't actually there or who were in fact hobbits living in the shires.

Being accountable to an international court means our Government has to answer to them if it tries to undermine your human rights. Be very suspicious of any UK politician who wants to remove that check on their powers.
