If one person says it’s raining and another says it’s sunny, it’s not a journalist’s job to report both perspectives.

It’s a journalist’s job to open the window and find out who is right.
The AI industry marginalizes and devalues human creativity rather than affirming it.

Those that say “AI is a tool” never acknowledge what the industry does to artists to legitimize its mythology.

By describing itself as “the future”, it devalues what doesn’t fit that identity/territory.

Any attempt to ascribe rigid structures on complex desires ultimately break down.

This is why arguments in favor of an objective metric for artistic quality fail on every level.

I became an AI skeptic bc the only cogent use cases AI boosters gave were, "a better search engine". but regular search engines already worked fine for 99% of people. the few folks who needed something more were like, me and my colleagues, none of whom found tremendous value in AI search tools
Anthropic is aggressively hitting me with ads on instagram for Claude and it’s all people being like “I use Claude to brainstorm” or asking Claude where they can find two colors together in a city. What a pile of crap, how does anybody still believe this is the future? It’s Search 2 and it sucks

Cynical, angry, and delightfully misanthropic. Will Tracy’s script as well as the performances are the stand-outs, here.

While some narrative choices are more effective than others, "Bugonia" is a funny and upsetting exercise in pessimism.

Food insecurity is ALWAYS a political choice. Famine is ALWAYS manmade. People go hungry because of other people’s decisions. We have more than enough food for everyone, and enormous amounts of it are wasted—literally thrown in the garbage—on purpose.

I feel like George Santos exemplifies a lot of what’s broken in the “justice” system. He was a corrupt politician, he briefly experienced the horrors of inhumane prison conditions, then the corrupt president moved to yank him out—and his victims received none of what they were owed in the process

The Arc Dream crowd are just the best!
Arc Dream Publishing exists to let me and a few friends create what we want. The push to replace human creativity with AI is just a variation on piracy, shoplifting, and contract ratfuckery. As long as enough fans are willing to pay us directly for our work despite all that, we’ll keep going.
