There are still folks who get that fighting autocracy abroad is a vital part of fighting for democracy at home. Most are younger than I and have their own labels. Others have dropped the one that I adopted in college. But I refuse to give it up. So I am the last neoconservative.

Trump’s line is that disrespect to law enforcement is punishable by death. Impeach and remove. This is not tolerable.

Frankly, Powell reminds me of Judge Webster (different fields, but a similar competence and demeanor). It’s amazing he’s still in place. He ought to be studied by children, like a museum piece.
