After Jackson's death, the Bloody Sunday march took place on March 7, 1965. In August of that year, President Johnson signed into law the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

for Jackson's death, and in 2010 he pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Fowler (below) was sentenced to six months in prison but was released one month early for a surgical procedure. He died in 2015 of pancreatic cancer at age 81. FYI: he was also a convicted drug trafficker.(cont)
