Maybe I'll do a thing here. Maybe not
So, I'm watching the scene in a TV show where this guy is talking to his assistant, asking her to send a gift with a card. "Something affectionate," he says. "No, something polite" and it hit me.

Writing is not hard - arguably it's easier for me, a writer, than some, but it's not hard.

I'm going to start carrying a flask with me to all of my press events (in person and virtual) so I can take a shot every time someone one stage says "work...AND play." I figure my liver will give out around mid-March.

It’s that special time of year when you get to see freshly cut Christmas trees tied to the top of EVs and can’t help but wonder where the compromise came in.

I used to be one of those “chat with the ride share driver” guys but I have very much grown out of that.

I have had a FedEx package attempt to be delivered 3 times with nary a FedEx truck showing up. That's usually FedEx code for "We lost your package" but I need to wait another week to be sure.

The hardest part to grasp about AI is the absolute disparity between the highs and lows. First, there's this post from @joannastern.bsky.social where Gemini just flat out makes things up: bsky.app/profile/joan...

The longer you read Def Leppard lyrics, the less they sound like love ballads and more like stalker manifestos.

As a writer, I'm constantly amazed that my job is to write things down and people actually pay me to do it.

As an editor, I see how some other people write and yeah, ok that makes sense now...

The not-so-secret reality of even pre-Elon Twitter was that it was godawful for clicks. Writers/editors didn't post stories there for readers, they did it to show their industry peers (and maybe subtly flaunt that they'd published first). Even "viral" posts were generally dire for actual traffic.
