You would think it would be easy to model a place with very little vegetation but I am finding it difficult. I am working on a nickel mine region, modeling the year 1985 outside of Sudbury, Ontario where nothing grew.

Analog Conversion is a Power Conversion Mode supported by most Multifunction Decoders. It's an optional feature. DCC signals will damage coreless motors.

The largest cylinders ever fitted to a steam locomotive were the massive 48"x32" low pressure cylinders on the Virginian Railway's Class AE 2-10-10-2. The high pressure cylinders were also huge at 30"x32". Otto Perry captured #801 at Roanoke VA in 1932.

Why do so many modellers rely on a $0.50 light bulb to protect their expensive DCC systems & locomotives when proper short protection is available?
Pay now or pay later, your choice.

Short Circuit
A Short Circuit gets its name from the electrical energy finding a shortcut, an easier path from one side of the power supply to the other.

DCC Multifunction decoders don't use DC to drive the motor. They create a Pulse Width Modulated signal to control direction & accurately maintain the desired speed.
It really is simple! Repost: spread the word.

Pulse Width Modulation
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) enhances motor control. Instead of applying direct current (DC) to the motor, a series of pulses is employed. These pulses reach their maximum power for a brief period. Va...

Not sure what it is a Program Track. but many seem determined to wire it to ensure damage, so here is the proper way to wire one.
Program Tracks work in Service mode, so the decoder's address is irrelevant.

Wiring a Programming Track for DCC
A Programming Track safely programs Multifunction Decoder using Service Mode Programming. It’s easy to have a portion of your layout’s track double as a programming track.
