Up since 2:30am because there was a fire in my apartment building (everything’s fine the tenant put it out before it got too crazy) so I think we’re kissing productivity goodbye today.

"I'm not spending $300 for an artist to design a cover for my book" = "My book isn't worth a $300 cover design." I get not having money to burn, but if you're going to put hundreds, even thousands, of hours into crafting a novel, why kneecap it like that? Why devalue your own time/effort/art??

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Trying to evaluate whether a VO place is legit or not (there’s a ton of scams circulating), so I look at their roster and listen to the demos: mouth noises not cleaned up, breaths left in weird places, spots with identical tones strung together, overcompressed. Human? Yes. Legit? I’m gonna say no.
