Even normies hate on Kotaku. I've seen it a lot back when I actively used Twitter but it still happens here on occasion. The scars of Gamergate affected how everyone talks about games journalism, not just the far right.
kotaku is a good website staffed by good people and it is really maddening and perplexing to me the way right wingers think a perpetually understaffed video game blog is responsible for everything they hate

I was curious how a book adaptation of a video game, particularly a JRPG, would be handled. I just finished this book, and I'm satisfied with how it was done. It's mostly a 1:1 adaptation of the game, but modified to suit the medium of novels.

I did not, in fact, lock the fuck in. But I did make more progress. About 150 pages today. I have about 50 more to go in this 450 page book. Will finish tomorrow and add to the media thread.

For light novels, which are of course series, should I add them to my media thread one book at a time? I would normally think of doing my review for the whole series, but that would be impossible for ongoing stuff. And some series being long means I'd basically never actually review it.

Been finally getting back into reading this year. Been using slow periods at work to get in some extra reading, which means I've been making very little progress and have yet to finish the book I'm on, but I am now dedicating part of my day off to make some real progress.
