I think Nigel Kneale might have had a field day with ‘acoustic jars’ - centuries of choral singing trapped, then separated, as the church is abandoned, then reshaped into a open living space for a new couple from the city.

Just reread Thor Heyerdahl’s account of hi 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition. Last time I read it was 45 years ago when I was 15. Why hadn’t I picked up that he was a white supremacist then? His whole theory was that Peruvians sailed to Polynesia but they must have been white to manage it. Absolute woo.
