A very informative thread…
This, from the AP, reflects a deep misunderstanding. Citizens of Native nations were excepted from the 14A's guarantee of birthright citizenship for very specific reasons. Namely, tribal sovereignty and treaty promises that the US would not impose citizenship on them absent consent.

this is cool, the Heiltsuk people in BC have oral history of settlements on the unglaciated coast during the last glacial maximum, helped guide an archeological dig at one of them, and found a hearth that dates back to 14K years ago, giving evidence to their oral history
