Not a fan of West End musicals, but I love the film and so just booked for this. Hope I haven't made a huge mistake. Some cheaper seats available in Sept. as for the rest of the time, ticket prices are just ridiculous www.princeedwardtheatre.co.uk/whats-on/bee...

Sad to hear about Diane Ladd. I spoke about her during an intro I did for Wild at Heart earlier this year for @broadwaycinema.bsky.social I do like Peter Bradshaw's phrase "effortlessly Lynchian" www.theguardian.com/film/2025/no...
Sharp, subtle and effortlessly Lynchian: Diane Ladd had a potent star power
In a hugely successful TV and film career, her waitresses, neighbours, moms and daughters ranged from comedy to drama to David Lynch films, always with compelling authenticity

Thoroughly recommend Moon Unit Zappa's brilliant memoir Earth to Moon. Darkly comic and beautifully written. After the Dylan & Springsteen movie biogs, a film adaptation must be on the way, but Moon must remain central. store.whiterabbitbooks.co.uk/products/ear...
Earth to Moon
For Moon Unit Zappa, daughter of musician Frank Zappa and his 'manager', Gail, life has always been utterly extraordinary.

Discovered the brilliant 1958 film Fiend Without A Face via @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social A British indie sci-fi, with great stop-motion of flying brains with attached spinal columns. I know I can't be the 1st person to recognise that the 'Fiend' must be part inspiration for the Alien face hugger.

it’s time, if you haven’t already done so, to shut down your twitter account, and tell the institutions you are part of to leave too.

there’s no way any UK museum, university, politician or any of us should still be on that far-right platform
I couldn't find a full transcript of the Musk conversation with Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson) at yesterday’s London demonstration so I made one myself

many shocking bits to this but perhaps especially the rhetoric of English villages under attack from “marauding"

I can recommend the Handel Hendrix House in Brook St. Mayfair, where Handel lived from 1723 and Hendrix rented the flat next door in 1968. Good recreations of their working lives and their similarities, i.e. two musical migrants who used their homes as artistic salons.
