Hotel lounge & bar. Saltburn-by-the Sea. I can only imagine the decor was inspired by the vast herds of giraffes that once roamed the North-East.

A display in the utterly charming Staithes Museum, North Yorkshire. Roger Corman would be proud.

"James seemed to treat the show as an audition for a bizarre unmade CBeebies show about a vomiting gardener" Such a funny & accurate #TheTraitors review by @heritage.bsky.social @theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...
The Traitors finale review – unbelievably stressful and bloodthirsty … till the last second
Though the cracks are starting to show, the endgame was undeniably nail-biting. And honestly, thank God for Rachel – the terrifyingly ruthless saviour of this series

We have launched RIOT ACT. A new play by Andy Barrett about the Notts framework knitters & the rise of the Luddites. A bold piece that will receive its premiere as a rehearsed reading at the Museum in March. Community actors now wanted. Details here frameworkknittersmuseum.org.uk/get-involved...

#Hamnet is such a beautiful, beautiful film. No tears, but then came the final scene. Destroyed me. The play is indeed the thing.

My home village of Lambley has made it into @privateeyenews.bsky.social (via @russs.bsky.social ?) Inevitably with a Reform council it's in Rotten Boroughs. I'm presuming the stated bureaucracy was waived by Reform for their own flag nonsense we're all now forced to see.

Really sad to hear about the death of Mick Abrahams. I clearly remember seeing Blodwyn Pig at the long gone Bobby Brown's in Nottingham with @sarahskelding.bsky.social After the gig MA signed my fag packet & I nicked a poster. Still kept hold of them.

Visited Bletchley Park today. Would highly recommend. The exact details of code-breaking is hard to get across, esp. for me, but impressed by the recreation of the working huts.

Last night finally caught up with the 2022 'Weird: The Al Yankovic Story'. Always had a soft spot for Weird Al & this is a wonderful send up of the music biopic, particularly after this year's Springsteen dirge. youtu.be/RyYZOtAxYKY?...

Fascinating discussion about Return to Waterloo on @squarewindowpod.bsky.social with @samiraahmeduk.bsky.social & @gkw.bsky.social and to hear some love for Ken Colley, a great actor, who let's not forget was Jesus in Life of Brian ... Blessed are the cheesmakers.

Not a fan of West End musicals, but I love the film and so just booked for this. Hope I haven't made a huge mistake. Some cheaper seats available in Sept. as for the rest of the time, ticket prices are just ridiculous www.princeedwardtheatre.co.uk/whats-on/bee...

Sad to hear about Diane Ladd. I spoke about her during an intro I did for Wild at Heart earlier this year for @broadwaycinema.bsky.social I do like Peter Bradshaw's phrase "effortlessly Lynchian" www.theguardian.com/film/2025/no...
Sharp, subtle and effortlessly Lynchian: Diane Ladd had a potent star power
In a hugely successful TV and film career, her waitresses, neighbours, moms and daughters ranged from comedy to drama to David Lynch films, always with compelling authenticity

Sleeper were my favourite 90s Britpop band. 30 yrs later, finally got to see them live at The Level in Nottingham. Didn't disappoint. Blistering version of Atomic.
