Fascinating discussion about Return to Waterloo on @squarewindowpod.bsky.social with @samiraahmeduk.bsky.social & @gkw.bsky.social and to hear some love for Ken Colley, a great actor, who let's not forget was Jesus in Life of Brian ... Blessed are the cheesmakers.

Sleeper were my favourite 90s Britpop band. 30 yrs later, finally got to see them live at The Level in Nottingham. Didn't disappoint. Blistering version of Atomic.

My favourite Redford film.

Discovered the brilliant 1958 film Fiend Without A Face via @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social A British indie sci-fi, with great stop-motion of flying brains with attached spinal columns. I know I can't be the 1st person to recognise that the 'Fiend' must be part inspiration for the Alien face hugger.

There is also the sofa purchased by Hendrix for his flat from a local antiques market. However this has been re-covered so many times, that it is now surely the 60s music equivalent of 'Trigger's Broom'.

I can recommend the Handel Hendrix House in Brook St. Mayfair, where Handel lived from 1723 and Hendrix rented the flat next door in 1968. Good recreations of their working lives and their similarities, i.e. two musical migrants who used their homes as artistic salons.

In @royalalberthall.bsky.social Rausing Circle seats for BBC Proms St Vincent concert. Very excited for this.

My lovely view on East Midlands Train to London, whilst standing in corridor for whole journey, due to my previous train being cancelled. Train travel is an absolute lottery these days.

Lovely evening in the grounds of Southwell Minster for a performance of Much Ado, by my favourite outdoor company, the all-cycling Handlebards.

In Lichfield Cathedral for festival performance by The Unthanks. Knew I had restricted seats, but had forgotten the width of the fine Gothic columns. Still, it's all about the sound.

Great to finally see #SladeInFlame on the big screen tonight at Bonington Theatre. Some scenes filmed in #Nottingham at the old Sherwood Rooms (now Ocean) and so the historian/archivist in me is now having to take a deep dive into the place.

#LaloSchifrin. Now there's a loss. Of course the movie scores, but here's a 1966 jazz album I only recently found in Norfolk. Worth it just for the Peter Weiss inspired title.

Loved the homage to Lene Lovich by @5teviem.bsky.social on tonight's #Taskmaster

In audience for @BBCRadio4 Any Questions? at Epperstone Village Hall, live at 8pm. Could be interesting following the horror-show of today's election results.

Fresh from Prague, have finished re-reading Metamorphosis. Still a brilliant, horrific & moving tale, plus I guess a strange rebirth story for Easter. Odd that this new Vitalis edition, in partnership with the Kafka Institute, features the insect on the cover, which Kafka never wanted depicted.

Another tick on the bucket list. This morning I woke up in 'The Village'. Staying in the glorious Portmeirion in Wales. View from window overlooks The Prisoner shop, which was also No. 6's home in the series. This is TV nerdery heaven.

Today in Prague, it's been all about "gazing upward into the seeming emptiness". Done an awful lot of Kafka related fun today.

In an absinthe bar in Prague. I feel like Hemingway.

I admit that I'm such a #DavidLynch nerd that I wore my #TwinPeaks socks for the Wild at Heart intro I gave tonight at @broadwaycinema.bsky.social My dog not that impressed.

In #Lichfield for evening mtg with City of Sanctuary group. I grew up around here. Wandering around again, it's 1984, I've signed on, & I'll be driving home in my battered Morris Marina to listen to the just purchased 12" of Close to the Edit.

There's something unique about UK towns in winter. Just back from a bracing & fun overnight stay in #Scarborough Saw Ben Elton at Spa Theatre (still brilliant), rode the funicular and had fortune read by Zoltar. Apparently, August will be my lucky month.
