Final Mission is a classic example of where they could have separated the Enterprise, with the saucer section sorting out the garbage ship, and the stardrive section racing back to search.
And whilst the plot is VERY forced, it's got some lovely scenes; I certainly missed Wesley after he left.

Maybe 35 years since I read this, but I still remember the "scenes" of the monster coming out of the game really well!
But, not much else...
And yes, would have look crap on TV!

After 5 episodes of Starfleet Academy, I would contend that the marketing, trailers and publicity really did this show a massive disservice, so I'm grateful for fans saying so and encouraging me to watch it.
