I'd have gone for a tri-bred! Ogron (plot is BORING!), Prof. Hayter (the ideas ARE interesting), & Cassandra (the Ice Warriors LOOK great!).
But as you say, a lot of the ideas are confused, & nothing *really* happens!

In 1997 Lungbarrow felt like a real reward for fans who'd stuck with the NAs for 6 years! It really felt like the payoff for the story they'd been telling, wrapping up the NA's 7th Dr.
With Dying Days as a bonus treat!

We know there is a cult of Sutekh in Egypt - Namin is one of them - so it seems reasonable once Sutekh is discovered, Scarman can direct the cult to build the components of the rocket, & all Sutekh's other devices?
Ie, Horus didn't leave him with them?
So, not a plot hole?

I find it interesting and amusing that in each of their appearances the Chelonians are drawn by different artists & look slightly different, which makes them feel like most other classic series monsters whose costumes and designs change every story!
