Chamonix 045F1 large format camera. I mainly use it with 6x12 120 film backs. It makes pictures that look like paintings. Shot on Velvia 50 in Scotland. It’s a slower setup process of ‘crafting an image’

Two separate weeks in Northern Iceland. An immersive 10min video, simply by pressing record on my Canon R3, using CLog3, balanced in Davinci Resolve and then I mixed recorded audio and music together.

Any film photographers out there? I have been scanning images for an Amateur Photographer article and thought I share these - all shot on a Mamiya C330s using Kodak Ektar / Pro400H

Amazing - never heard of this before
This is not an aurora but another atmospheric phenomenon called SAR arc. It's the transference of energy from a solar storm around a circular ring within the Earth's magnetosphere. It stayed there in the same spot in the sky for many hours! My first time seeing one of these

Completely mind bending!
Good morning! I don't often convert to black and white but once in a while the image demands it of me. This image photographed in Peru's Cordillera Huayhuash was one such instance.

On another note: I'll be presenting at Out of Chicago LIVE next weekend. See first comment for more info!

Such an artistic abstract from Dan
Today's pre-Bluesky photo:

“Mo’s Cloud” — Lenticular “sierra wave” clouds above the eastern Sierra Nevada.

An early digital photograph from two decades ago.

Holy crap... incredible shot by Isabella - I just followed

Cliches aside, it really doesn't matter - its the way you shoot it as Johannes shows us.
Is shooting icons a good or a bad thing? I don’t see myself in a position to answer this question, but what I do know is that shooting them can still be a lot of fun! However, it is rather difficult to find a unique perspective though.

Expect to see a lot of Iceland images this week from a photo tour of the the north I have just completed. A week of some of the most testing winter conditions produced some of my most engaging work.

Sublime winter work from Viktoria
-28 and those frost flowers were beautiful. This one needed to be focus stacked so that I could achieve front to back focus.

First day of my 4x4 northern Iceland tour - no drones / no influencers / barely any tourists - unusual minimal images in abundance.

I wish I had skies like this at home - so faint and so well captured
Straight off the backyard telescope, I bring you the Spaghetti Nebula! This beast is 3000 light years away and 160 light years wide. Very cool!

Surely they knew this would look incredible when they built it in 1283! If not then Richard can send them this...

An atmospheric morning in Scotland’s ancient pinewoods. Mist can make for some of the most memorable moments, but also some complete whiteouts!

60mph winds - I could barely stand up straight. On the coast in Orkney, the chances of any light very low that evening, so I started shouting at the skies - the clouds parted! I walked back thinking I could be living in a simulation.
