It's remarkable how thoroughly formerly competent/successful people like Bessent have torched their credibility by being in Trump's orbit. Once in, you have to commit 100% to supporting any and all of Trump's lies and nonsense. It must be exhausting.

Because there's nothing a 55-year-old person with a pre-existing condition and working 2 part time jobs likes more than the chance to "negiotiate their own health insurance".
