Tuesday Blues Day! Here's something to set your toes to tapping. Can't you just imagine sliding into some smoky juke joint in the 30's with everyone up and dancing when they break into this number?

Rep. LaMonica McIver being charged by Trump’s DOJ for “assaulting” a cop is particularly scary because it was all on camera with many witnesses and the administration feels comfortable enough to straight up lie with impunity and target a sitting congresswoman

While researching quack doctors from the 1800s I came upon the absolutely WILD story of John Brinkley. A Nazi sympathizer, confederate medic and quack virility doctor. His most notorious virility cure being the transplanting of goat testicles into human patients.

Here's an old phrase I discovered today: "Tripping the light fantastic." It means "to dance lightly and gracefully, with a lively, carefree spirit. It's a phrase that evokes a sense of joy and exuberance, often associated with dancing or having a wonderful time."

Tuesday Blues Day! Check out the Hindu Love Gods covering Johnson's "Walking Blues". The angry, plodding footsteps of percussion and the crystal clear guitar tone keep this track marching clear out of Jonesboro.

Another day, another fascist takedown of independent media. 60 Minutes has been one of the ONLY networks seriously covering the Havana Syndrome phenomenon. We all know Russia is behind the use of these energy weapons. Guess who Trump targets? Enemies of Putin
'60 Minutes' chief resigns, saying show's independence was compromised
The longtime head of CBS' 60 Minutes resigned Tuesday, as the network's parent company grapples with President Trump's lawsuit over an interview the show did with Kamala Harris last fall.

Tuesday Blues-Day! Today, Shakey Horton at the American Blues Festival in Copenhagen from 1970. Lee Jackson on guitar and Lafitte Leak on piano. Horton was tapped to accompany John Lee Hooker for the soundtrack to the movie The Blues Brothers, but his parts were overdubbed.

Don't lose sight of the fact that one of the goals of the fascist right is to cause hopeless and perpetual rage in their opponents. Remember, it doesn't hurt them that you are enraged, it only hurts you and your loved ones. Kindness is protest, joy is resistance, empathy is a revolution.

1. Mahlon "Frank" Stroup (1858-1901)
Frank Stroup was born in the young Kansas Territory before it was officially a state. He was born into the notorious "Bleeding Kansas" era when Missourians and Kansans were fighting each other to determine whether Kansas would be a free or a slave state.

I believe Democrats most important priority should be forging coalitions against the fascist right that is emerging globally and domestically. But, we also need to make changes where we have fallen short. Nicholas Kristof gives us a primer on areas we could improve.

Folk Friday! Today, singer-songwriter Sam Baker. I first heard about Sam from a Fresh Air interview with Terry Gross. Sam has a fascinating life story which has colored his music with an intensity that resonated with me. Here's one of my favorites, "Moses in the Reeds."

I read this quote a decade ago in the book, “The News: a Users Manual” and it stuck with me enough that I went back to find it. In short, it posits that a would-be dictator could suppress the news or flood the zone with a tsunami of nonsense. By either strategy, it kills people’s resolve to act.
