In 1971 Sesame Street invited Jesse Jackson to the show. This segment taught a generation of kids that we were all somebody, regardless of how we looked, where we came from, how we spoke, whether or not our families had money. In the 55 years since that message has been demolished by the right.

Had to tell a friend that I won't read their (or anyone's) blog because it's on substack and substack has a widely known Nazi problem. How is this not a bigger issue? It's been a problem for years now. The degree to which money talks these days is revolting.

2 days later & I keep thinking about this. I travelled with my kids. I never assured anyone that I still had them with me when I left. The only reason I can think of for saying this is he knew kids were trafficked for sex on that island, and wanted us to know he didn’t let that happen to *his* kids.

My updated semi-regular reminder. When you bring a "smart" or "AI" enabled anything into your home or onto your person, replace "smart" or "AI" with "surveillance". As in "Hey, look at my new surveillance watch." or "Hi Jean, we just got a suite of surveillance appliances installed in our kitchen."
