I haven’t built a plastic model in decades. I have to say I’m enjoying the heck out of building a model Honda RA272 (a Formula 1 race winning car from 1965). The engine is nearly complete. Paint and cement have come a long way since 197x.

It’s World Kindness Day! There’s a lot of heavy darkness out there. Take some time and brighten your community with an act of kindness, if only for today.

It’s not too late to check your storm drains! I checked the one outside my flat only to find it under a 7” thick mat of decomposing leaf litter. Big rains coming to #HRM #Halifax #NovaScotia

Happy day! The city is planing a pretty little oak tree outside my bedroom window. It’ll be a lovely shade tree someday. #halifax #hrm #NorthEndHalifax

Nope. I’ve read the books, seen all the shows & movies and played the games. (Outstanding among then is Girl with All the Gifts - the book - by M. R. Carey).

My Dalton Varsho bobble head is standing by to support the team in game 162. Go #BlueJays!

Just noticed that this graphic is essentially a rainbow. I just love Star Trek. Also, how is the “live long and prosper” Vulcan hand sign not an emoji? Seriously. I’d use it constantly.

I was there with my kids a few years back. We toured the site and museum, we solemnly sounded the gong, we sat deep in thought on a bench. It was profoundly moving for all three of us. #Hiroshima

🧵(1/2) I decided to sign up for early access to this Gander social media project. If you are considering the same thing, here are a few tips: (a) use Proton Pass (worth every penny) to create an alias email and unique password; (b) there's almost never a need to use your real name; (c)...

I'm ignoring the world today. Our family said has just said goodbye to Petey, our cat, who's gone on to join his adoptive brother, Will. Here they are in younger days, underneath our fake Christmas tree in Iqaluit - Will on the left, Petey on the right. We miss both you buffoons.

I’m not sure which is more bonkers. That the USA has put a 10% tariff on two uninhabited islands or that they expect people to believe that these islands already have a 10% tariff on all US goods they import. Their numbers are nonsense across every country. This is the dumbest timeline.

My feed right now. Sigh... human rights are embattled on every possible front. A ray of hope here, a pit of despair there.

Be careful with package labelling. Seems companies are slapping maple leaves on things as fast as they can. Take this Compliments package of spinach at Sobeys. That maple leaf is very prominent and implies a Canadian product. But written in black along with the best before date is “Product of USA”.

Having a rare disease is no fun. But I can say it has introduced me to a whole cadre of amazing people, given me an entirely new approach to life and what matters (hint: it's the people, not the things), and taught me, finally, to ask for help and be grateful for it. #vasculitis #GPA

The Economist generously rates the US as a flawed democracy, sitting at #29 in the top 30 countries. Today, the world watches to see if it can live up to 29th.
