The loonie at a 7 month high. A 6.6% drop in exports to the USA compensated by a 24% increase in exports to other markets. A respectful introductory meeting at the White House. A good day for #Canada

I'm amazed by the near disappearance of pro-Poilievre pro-Trump commentors from the Globe now that the election is over.
It's as if all the accounts named App_12344 before were Russian trolls or something.

A lot of media chatter about how the Tories got more pop vote than any time since 1988, but are still opposition. Less talk about Liberal pop vote being higher than any since 1968! Also, the NDP's pop vote was even lower in 1993 than now.

My applause for all the candidates, even the ones I didn't agree with. It takes courage to submit oneself to the judgment of the general public. That they have done so to offer to improve our community is all the more admirable.

I disagree with Pierre Poilievre on most things, but I am grateful that he has destroyed the People's Party. And that was a good concession speech.

The only reversal of fortune The Economist could find that's anywhere close to the rapid rise of Liberal fortunes in Canada is the Freedom Movement in Slovenia in 2022. This is a near- unprecedented success for Liberals

What stood out for me is how many times he voted against housing initiatives.
That's the problem with hyper-partisan politics and almost no life experience outside of it. Even if he agrees with the policy (even if it copies his own idea) he votes against because it's proposed by another party.

You can still vote today for one more hour and, after 7.3 million voted on Easter weekend, there's still a line to vote. Canadians want the campsigns over and a new government at work ASAP.

The Debate Commission is obviously incompetent, but the debates themselves were good. Patrice Roy and Steve Paikin are excellent. The party leaders were forthcoming and, for the most part, civil.
