Looking at some of the plaques installed under the presidential portraits and I just can't imagine how I'd feel as an American right now. I'd definitely feel ashamed of my country, that's for sure. And yet I'll see plenty of people laughing and applauding this type of behaviour.

I want a universal button that will turn off all AI generated slop so I never have to see it again anywhere. I'm just so tired of how hard everyone is trying to make it happen everywhere.
The ACM Digital Library, where a LOT of computing-related research is published (I'd say at least 75% of my own publications), is now not only providing (without consent of the authors and without opt-in by readers) AI-generated summaries of papers, but they appear as the *default* over abstracts.

I'm honestly trying to think of when a comic had as much hype as Absolute Batman does. I'm thinking Death of Superman (though it was short lived) or maybe Image Comics? Death of Cap? Over a year now & people are still going crazy for it. Though this current boost is for the Absolute Joker backstory.

At this point I don't trust any political party/politician in Canada to actually stand up for trans rights, the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, the environment, the working class, or doing what's right for people as opposed to "the economy" (aka the rich). As I see it, it's only about who will do less harm.😞

Something I've been thinking regarding Star Trek and the world we live in. The show always put humans right at the top of everything. The scientists, the philosophers, the explorers, etc. In reality it feels more like we're on the path of the Pakleds.
