One fascinating thing about trying to promote a book online are the commenters who chime in to say some version of "Oh, so you're trying to sell books, huh?" as if they caught you doing something nefarious.

If we want to get serious about addressing declining literacy rates in the US, we gotta stop shaming people for what and how they read. Speaking as someone who has personally struggled, shame is a sure fire way to kill any enthusiasm and curiosity toward reading, which kills any ambition to learn.
