An incredible album. Lo-fi/minimal songs of despair and alien(!)ation by mildly depressed sci-fi nerds. I'm pretty sure the only publication that reviewed it at the time was 2000AD and that's because it's probably the only one they sent it to.
‘Space Museum’ by Solid Space (1982) 🚀
Reissued by Dark Entries in 2017
Cheap synths and drum machines, stripped-back layers, melodies with a pop sensibility from this short-lived British duo. Space Museum is an adventurous, seminal, and decidedly punk album that was years ahead of its time.

In Issue Three! DJ impresario Josh Cheon (@darkentries.bsky.social) and punk polymath Brontez Purnell discuss growing up goth, San Francisco's dance parties, Dolores Park meet-cutes, archiving Patrick Cowley’s gay porn soundtracks, and maintaining the creative drive deep into their careers.

out now: Brandy Dalton - Fallen Angel soundtrack to a trilogy of ’90s BDSM films. “His work here runs the gamut from woozy ambient textures to chuggy techno skronk, somewhere in between British Murder Boys and the Twin Peaks soundtrack.”

My favorite memory touring with Mara was in the car ride headed to Pennsylvania with @darkentries.bsky.social driving we joked about how we wanted to make Ren-Wave or Ren-Fair Wave. I don't know how to describe it: Dragon Wave, GoT Wave, but between this and my release we're getting there 🪉🐉
Out today: Phase 5 by Group Rhoda. Mara Barenbaum has recorded under the Group Rhoda name for more than a decade, and her latest release sees her perpetually in-between states, deftly shifting form at the blink of an eye. grouprhoda.bandcamp.com/album/phase-5

Hard Tip: this release is so fucking sick. No one matches the levels of Mara Barenbaum of Group Rhoda. I'm so honored and happy to be friends with her, as tour comrades back in the States and in extremely excellent company as a fellow artist on Dark Entries / @darkentries.bsky.social!

Rest in Peace Nogi Prass of Shoc Corridor, keyboardist on the Experiments In Incest LP and A Blind Sign EP that we reissued. She also worked as a music journalist in London in the 80s, interviewing artists and appearing on radio. A beautiful and charismatic soul who will be sorely missed. 💔

What about gay? Where’s the gay voice in all of this? It’s all been erased, forgotten, lost to AIDS or thrown out. I’ve literally been working on this for 16 years trying to amplify this underground gay music scene. - Josh Cheon interviewed by the Guardian www.theguardian.com/music/2026/f...

Really exceptional music, and a sad, sweet story. I'm so glad someone is compiling and archiving the music, it's just lovely 🎶
