Whilst we have had a great field season and have deployed 11 tags in two days on elephant seals 🦭, we can’t ignore the unthinkable amount of plastic in this, one of the most isolated areas of the world.

Finally attended my first marine mammal post-mortem yesterday evening with the team at Cornwall Marine Pathology!🥼

It was fascinating to assist in examining these two adult common 🐬s. Incredible how much valuable data can be collected from these for so much further research🧑‍🔬🔬

It's officially HUMPBACK season in Cornwall 🐋 which means countless hours scanning the horizon, battling the 🥶 & straining my eyes!! The whales are thought to stop here to ‘refuel’ on their way ⬇️ to ❄️ breeding grounds. So get out, keep your 👀 peeled, & you might just get lucky!!
