Great question, why not have a CRT filter? CRT Royale ntsc svideo, specifically. Worth some experimenting when tightening up those graphics on level 3.

A gimmick I created for one of Saela's latest drops, Karma, applied very graciously.

Named by me "Corpse Stepping", it allows you to profane a set number of Mario's corpses for his own filthy platforming purposes.

There are professional irons that I'll hopefully keep on the fire this year, but for MY indulgence I'd really like to make some big progress on a team romhack that's been a bit shirked on, at least on the art and level design side of things.

She's now low-res, yay

Screamstress is a dress model banshee critter with a cute fashion sense and Sharpness/Soundproof for abilities, plus a unique one in Wonder Lace.
This allows it and its ally to target the other instead of only themselves for self-targeting status moves.

Working on skull rafts that
- have configurable size
- have configurable speed, including to the left
- interact with walls
- there can be multiple of independently: one raft won't activate every skull on screen
- don't despawn too easily (working on this one)

Evolution causes some species to lose their vestigial outline, or gain pillow shading as warning coloration to predators.
Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.

Pagespar, Quartzquire, and Stalacknight, Rock/Fighting cavern knights

They have a bevy of defenses with Solid Rock, Battle Armor, and Sturdy - the latter turns into Gallantry, cutting incoming damage from taller enemies by 20% and being immune to their Intimidation or selection-limiting moves.

Rounding out #Faketober2025 with bunnies rabbit: Candelop, Vigilop, and Constellop!

They get the standard Blaze, as well as Alignment to gain power when timer-based moves or field conditions end.

Candle Bomb also lets them do damage and deals an inverse Speed Boost for 3 turns.

I got down to the point where I realised I simply can't make the cluster bullets interact with custom blocks, lol

As compensation, I added the option to make specified map16 tiles to shatter on contact with them

I wonder if there's a good way to add more common behaviors, like on/off blocks...
