I don’t want to cook supper, I want to crochet and sip hot tea on this glorious, grey autumn day, but my nephew just moved home and requested sausage gravy and biscuits so I’m making him sausage gravy and biscuits. The crochet will keep, and I’m grateful I get to feed this big kid again.

Decided I absolutely HAD to have a crochet tapestry No Kings sign less than 12 hours before we marched. I somehow got it done in time (just don’t look at the back)! It’s wonky because of the rush but it was a big hit! Pattern was from morningcrafter.com/free-pattern...

Waiting for some yarn to start my next #crochet project so I cast on a knit hat and after I’d done all the increases (184 stitches!) put the project down for 2 seconds. Rincewind the cat chomped the cable on my Chiaogoo needle. This is the second pair he’s ruined. I am sad. #knit

My Ohio city isn’t very big but the turnout for the No Kings protest was PACKED with folks from all walks of life. Our voices downed out the couple of counter protesters driving back and forth with a megaphone and I got to watch my (adult) kiddos starting and leading chants. I have hope today.

My mom died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday evening and it has been gut wrenching, but my baby brother and twin and I have been surrounded with so much support and love, and I also discovered this picture of us at her memorial. She was beautiful inside and out. Her name was Barb.

I switched from knitting to crochet because it doesn’t hurt my hands as much but my kid saw a knitted frog that they loved so much that I pulled out my size 0 needles and raided the stash for some fingering weight yarn. Body done, just waiting for the safety eyes to get here and I can carry on!

I had the best day, I got to see my granddogs (yes, I call them that) and also met a golden-doodle that my son and his fiancée are pup sitting (they work in a grooming and boarding facility) and his name is Doc and he’s gorgeous and looks like he knows how to do math. He also smelled really good.

I finished Pyramids by Terry Pratchett last night (loved it) and have only eight Discworld books left to read. Or, to frame it differently, I have eight Discworld books left before I start a Discworld reread.

If you’re going to have a mammogram I can highly recommend having your puppy waiting in the car (with husband and the air on and water and snacks, of course) when you get out! I also got candy from the lovely tech but the puppy really made the day so much better!

There’s a spot on the road up to the school behind our house where the late evening sun hits in the early spring and fall that makes the blacktop look like a pool of molten gold. It’s so pretty!

I crocheted this for my nephew for Easter (we’re gonna fill it with candy!) and I’m wondering who I am that I keep completing crafty projects early and not dripping sweat, working right up to the last minute. Weirdness. 🧶
