When I think about it, Ted DiBiase was right about everything.

“Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there’s no one around
Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle’s crumbled
And you’re left with just a name
Where’s your crown, King Nothing?”

Mini series starting with Marshall testing Ike in War Plans through VE Day
They should make a movie about Eisenhower in Europe so the public can learn how catastrophically complicated a modern military is.

Nachos is a Christmas movie
Settle a debate for me. I maintain that Nachos are pasta. @ndgree.bsky.social thinks they’re pizza.

Domino’s Theory
“Whatever the rival pizza chain comes up with, we will develop something that kills you faster”

Your stuffed crust has nothing on tour Oreo Pizza.
The domino theory wasn’t wrong. But opposing it with major military intervention was a bad idea.

Before Kevin McCallister, there was Kevin Kubusheskie
IYKYK
Just bumped into this piece of information and nameKevin somehow sounds different after this. There even was a map showing popularity of name Kevin in more poor areas of France.

A master class on how to analyze hockey. Phenomenal book on not only the series, but a dive into international hockey history

Washington inoculated the Army at Yorktown. You cannot make war if all your soldiers have smallpox.
90% of military history is about where the latrines are dug. You cannot make war if you have dysentery.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

More time in maintenance than use describes almost every combat platform in any military. Tanks, Artillery, ADA, Ships, Aircraft, etc
Nothing says "bespoke weapon" like a fighter jet that we've built 1200 of and plan to build +3000 total. Also "more time in maintenance than in the air" describes literally every military aircraft.

Continuous Transformation is Pentomic Army, but worse

Combatant Commands managing force allocations is the old bureau chief system, but worse.

Congrats, guys, we’ve innovated ourselves into irrelevance

Also if you’ve never read Pape, you should. This is definitely one of the books that has influenced me a great deal and it’s actually pretty readable for people that don’t have a FP/defense/military background

Jim Varney.
I celebrate the entire “Ernest Goes To…” collection.
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor
